Recurring Events
The Prince George Chamber of Commerce hosts a number of annual events throughout the year that give our members a chance to network with other professionals in the community as well as gain important knowledge about the business climate in Prince George.
Our annual general meetings are a chance for our members to learn more about what the Chamber has accomplished over the past year, while providing information about what is planned for the year ahead and giving our members the opportunity to vote on important Chamber matters. The AGM is also an opportunity for the membership to hear from Board of Directors candidates and elect who they see fit to represent the business community. The AGM typically takes place in the spring of each year and is open to all of our members.
Business After 5s take place a few times a year and are a great way to get to know the local business community in a casual setting. These events are hosted at a member business and typically include food, drinks, prizes, and excellent networking opportunities. Business After 5s are always free for our members to attend and are open to non-members too! If you are a member that is interested in hosting a Business After 5 event, contact us today!
The Business Excellence Awards are the biggest event the Chamber hosts each year. The awards are an opportunity to recognize the hardworking businesses, entrepreneurs, and non-profits in our community. The nomination period takes place each summer and is open to all businesses in Prince George, not just our membership. The awards ceremony takes place every October, usually in conjunction with BC Small Business Week. The format has changed slightly over the years; however, the 2017, 2018, and 2019 events were delivered “Tony Award-style” at the Prince George Playhouse with live entertainment, delicious food and beverage, and networking breaks. Not only that, but your ticket granted you access to the Business Excellence Awards After Party which took place immediately following the awards show! Due to COVID-19, the 2020 and 2021 shows were hosted on CKPG-TV.
Our Political Breakfast Series are a great way to get to know our local politicians before work hours begin. Each breakfast features great food, a presentation by one of the community’s elected officials, and a chance to network with those sitting at your table. These events typically take place on a quarterly basis.
This event is a one-day forum focused on building a more resilient and prosperous northern BC. This event is designed for SMEs – and the communities where they live and operate. #TrueNorth offers entrepreneurs and leaders better tools and strategies so they can lift up their communities and businesses. Thought-leading experts on economic development, finance, and First Nations partnerships (among others) will bring audiences the most current data and proven-strategies to grow their brands and communities.
