Prince George, June 11, 2024 - True North 2024, held at the House of Ancestors, displayed the significant steps taken towards economic reconciliation. The event, brought together sponsors, speakers, and delegates for a day of informative and inspirational discussions.

Key highlights included:

  • Lheidli T’enneh Chief Dolleen Logan shared insights on the foundations of successful partnerships with representatives from Canfor and Arbios.
  • Lhai Ventures GM Regina Toth and Stellat’en Chief Robert Michell emphasized the importance of transparency in building trust, in a session with leaders from Stantec and EDI
  • Williams Lake FN Chief Willie Sellars and Keerit Jutla of the Association for Mineral Exploration were joined by senior staff from Sedgwick Strategies and Northwest Copper to discuss the need for open and ongoing communication.
  • HubSpace Executive Director Mary Mytting led a group discussion on exciting regional innovation.
  • Representatives from Northern Health addressed recruitment and retention challenges for healthcare professionals in rural and remote communities.
  • Two Mount Milligan mine workers shared their personal reconciliation journeys and the significance of land restoration for their families.
